Based on Article 20 of the Constitution of the Republic of Turkey, the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK), which was published in the Official Gazette dated April 7, 2016, and numbered 29677, has entered into force. In accordance with both our Constitution and the provisions of KVKK, everyone has the right to request the protection of their personal data.
First and foremost, we want you to know that EDZ EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS and its affiliated LANGUAGE ZONE LANGUAGE SCHOOL demonstrate maximum sensitivity and care in ensuring the security of personal data.
In accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698, our institution is considered a “Data Controller.”
With the awareness of this responsibility and as a Data Controller, the personal data of our valuable students, parents, alumni, employees, visitors, and all individuals associated with our institution are processed and stored in compliance with the principles and procedures outlined in KVKK and related legislation, as detailed below.
- Fundamental Principles Governing the Processing of Personal Data
As EDZ EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS and LANGUAGE ZONE LANGUAGE SCHOOL, the processing of personal data is carried out in accordance with the following principles outlined in Article 4 of KVKK:
- Compliance with the law and the principles of honesty,
- Accuracy and, when necessary, currency,
- Processing for specific, explicit, and legitimate purposes,
- Being relevant, limited, and proportional to the purpose of processing,
- Retaining data for the period stipulated in relevant legislation or as required for the purpose of processing.
2 – Processed Personal Data
The personal data processed by our institution within the scope of the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) and related legislation may vary depending on your legal relationship with our institution. This includes your name, surname, address, phone number, email address, date of birth, place of birth, Turkish ID number, profession, marital status, contact information, personal data shared during online applications made through our institution’s website, IP address, information shared in contracts concluded or to be concluded with our institution, and other relevant personal data. These personal data may be processed by our institution in connection with and limited to the purposes specified below and may also be transferred under the conditions set forth in Articles 8 and 9 of KVKK.
Your personal data may be collected verbally, in writing, or electronically through automated or non-automated methods via our departments, branches, website, social media applications, and similar means. Likewise, your personal data may also be collected when you participate in various events organized by our institution or visit our institution, even for visiting purposes.
3 – Purpose of Processing Personal Data
Your personal data may be processed by our institution for the following purposes: managing the relationship and processes between our institution and students, parents, and alumni; ensuring the regular and complete execution of our service policies and activities; conducting statistical reviews and evaluations based on collected data to improve service quality; maintaining communication and contact with students, parents, and alumni; following up and managing human resources processes for staff employed or job applicants to our institution; conducting accounting processes required by law; ensuring the commercial and legal security of individuals communicating with our institution; developing and enhancing IT system infrastructure; ensuring data security; reviewing and improving our service policies; and complying with obligations arising from legislation.
4 – Transfer of Personal Data
Our institution may transfer your personal data, within the scope of the purposes specified above and in compliance with the relevant regulations of KVKK, to domestic individuals, institutions, or organizations; our business partners; third parties who provide services to our institution or to whom our institution provides services; and legally authorized individuals, institutions, or organizations. These transfers will occur as necessary, considering the nature of the relationship and the type of information shared. Necessary security measures will be taken to ensure data protection.
5 – Rights of the Personal Data Owner
Pursuant to Article 11 of KVKK, as the owner of personal data, you have the following rights by applying to our Institution. Accordingly, individuals whose personal data is processed have the right to:
- Learn whether their personal data is being processed,
- Request information if their personal data has been processed,
- Learn the purpose of processing their personal data and whether these are used in accordance with the intended purpose,
- Know the third parties to whom their personal data has been transferred domestically or internationally,
- Request the correction of personal data if it has been processed incompletely or inaccurately,
- Request the deletion or destruction of personal data in the event that the reasons for processing no longer exist, even though it has been processed in accordance with KVKK and other relevant legal provisions,
- Request notification of the actions taken pursuant to items (e) and (f) to third parties to whom personal data has been transferred,
- Object to any result arising against them by analyzing their processed data exclusively through automated systems,
- Request compensation for damages incurred as a result of the unlawful processing of personal data,
- Submit your requests in writing or through the methods specified in KVKK and/or determined by the Personal Data Protection Board to exercise the above-mentioned rights. You may hand-deliver your signed application in person or send it via registered mail to the address provided below. Similarly, you may submit your request via an electronically signed email in accordance with legal requirements. Depending on the nature of your request, your application will be evaluated and concluded within 30 days at the latest.
6 – Retention and Security of Personal Data
Your personal data will be deleted, destroyed, or anonymized in accordance with Article 7(1) of KVKK when the purpose for processing no longer exists and/or when the mandatory retention periods expire.
Our institution, as a Data Controller, has taken technical and administrative measures required under Article 12 of KVKK to prevent unlawful processing and access to personal data and to ensure proper storage of personal data. These measures include antivirus software and firewalls to ensure data security.

KVKK INFORMATION REQUEST AND APPLICATION FORM
EDZ EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS and its affiliated “LANGUAGE ZONE LANGUAGE SCHOOL” have prepared and published this “Data Subject Application Form” to enable the submission of requests by the relevant individual in accordance with Article 11 of the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK).

The information you provide in your application will be recorded through this form and will be deleted by us, taking the necessary technical and administrative measures, once the retention periods determined based on the data categories expire.
In accordance with KVKK and the Regulation on the Procedures and Principles of Application to the Data Controller, the date your application reaches us will be considered the application date. Following the evaluation of your application, it will either be accepted by us or, if your application contains incomplete information, it may be rejected. In such a case, you will be informed, and we will request the necessary information from you to complete your application.
If the evaluation of your application, review, and report generation process involves additional costs, the fees specified under Article 7 of the Regulation will be charged to you.
